catherine’s bc blogue

Okay, I’m just a little nauseated.  But three days after this new chemo I can walk, talk, work at the computer, and eat.  Working on this blogue entry would have killed me three days post-AC (Adriamycin and Cytoxan, the noxious chemicals administered over the first two months of chemo).  Maybe that’s why I never wrote.  It was bad.  But it’s over now.  This new regimen, of Abraxane (given instead of Taxol, in a less toxic form) and Herceptin made me sick a few times the first day, and then basically abated in terms of its side effects.  I will supposedly have some bone pain and peripheral neuropathy as time goes on.  Whatever it is, I should be able to handle it with ibuprofen.

(Later) Apparently the vomiting was purely psychosomatic. The only time I was sick was the first treatment. As the treatments went on, they became increasingly innocuous.   It was a joy not to be flattened and anorectic every two weeks.

Penetrating appreciation of life not nauseated
